Christmas

So for Christmas this year we were all sick. It started with me being sick the Saturday before Christmas, then Sienna got sick and then Garrett. The Monday before Christmas I was feeling a little better so we got to go to Mesa and do some last minute shopping and we went to the Suns game. On the way home at about 12:30 am is when Sienna started throwing up. We didn't go anywhere for Christmas Eve because we all 3 weren't feeling good. We did go drive around and look at lights late that night. Then Christmas we went to my grandma's in Pima for lunch and then to the Sparks' for dinner. It was a good day even though we didn't feel too good. Sienna got a lot of stuff including a cozy coupe car, an elmo doll, dora doll, dora guitar, clothes, shoes, my little ponies, and some other stuff. She loves playing in her car and she gets some of her toys and puts them in her car with her. She liked all the Christmas stuff this year so it was fun. She sat on Santa's lap at the Sparks Christmas party and she liked him. She loved the lights, trees, snowmen and Santa. When she would see Santa on tv she would say ho ho.

Santa!

After a long Christmas day she was able to play with her car.

Things about Sienna

I just wanted to write down some things that I want to remember about Sienna. She is talking pretty well for her age and will try to say pretty much anything you tell her to. She is really sweet most of the time and when I give her something she always says, "Thank you, mama". And she nods her head when she does it. She also throws some pretty good fits though. She wants to be really independent right now and do everything herself and just run everywhere she wants to. She tells me no, mama. She's starting to say no more now instead of mo. When she's saying no to something or someone she shakes her shoulders and upper body when she says it. I guess that's all for now. I just don't want my little baby to grow up!

Light Parade

Last night we went to the light parade in Safford. We had never been before and we thought Sienna would like it so we decided to go. Me and my parents went early to get a spot. We got all bundled up and took blankets. Garrett and Sienna got there shortly before the parade started. Before it started all Sienna wanted to do is run. My dad was following her around. She did sit down and watch when the parade started. I think she liked it. She was tired so towards the end of the parade she fell asleep on my mom's lap. Afterwards we went and ate at Denny's. Sienna got to have hot chocolate for the first time.

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with Garrett's family. All of his brothers and their family's were here so we got to spend a lot of time with everyone. Marlene had a lot of fun things planned for us to do. I didn't get a lot of pictures. There is a new toy at the Sparks' house that all the little kids loved. It's a battery powered ATV. Sienna would've rode it the whole time we were over there if she could've. She can't steer by herself so some has to help her the whole time. She loved it. I couldn't get a picture of her face while she was riding it. This one is on Thanksgiving.

On Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to Pima and the kids got to ride horses. Marlene had it set up so this lady and her husband would help the kids and teach them how to ride and everything. It was really fun for the kids. Sienna loves horses. This picture was of her before we left to go eat with everyone at R&R. After R&R we went to ride horses. She wouldn't smile for me.

Sienna and Boe. It was Boe's 3rd birthday.

Amanda rode with Sienna since she was too little to go by herself. I didn't want to ride. Sienna loved it of course. Amanda said that she kept trying to grab the reigns.

They also had chickens and dogs. Sienna loves animals. Sometimes she gets scared of little dogs that jump on her but if she gets used to them she likes them. I've never seen her scared of a big dog though. Maybe it's because she's used to our dog Maggie.

6 Years

Today is our 6th Anniversary! Garrett brought me home these pretty flowers from work yesterday afternoon. We celebrated last night. Sienna went to her Grandma and Grandpa Moore's and spent the night. We went out to dinner at the Copper Steer steakhouse then Garrett said he would go with me to see New Moon. So we went home for a little bit and then went to get in line at the movies. We only got there about 35 minutes early and the line was pretty long but we got in it anyways. So the line started moving and by the time we got towards the front of the line they had to check to see how many more tickets they could sell. We knew we didn't want to sit in the front row or crappy seats so we just decided to go see The Blindside instead. We wouldn't have got tickets for New Moon anyway. I'm going to try to go see it soon. The Blindside was really good though. I'm glad we saw it. Today we went to stake conference and then went and picked up Sienna. I don't know what we did before we had Sienna! Life would be really boring without her. We had almost 5 years by ourselves and I'm glad we did. We've had some pretty crazy times the last 6 years growing up while being married. It all worked out great though and I have a great husband and we made this cute kid. Six years down and forever to go...

Halloween

My camera has been taking really blurry pictures lately. I think it's time for a new one. In the picture above is Sienna in her Halloween outfit that my grandma bought for her. I think it's so cute. It has little skulls on it. I can finally put a bow in her hair. I'm so excited. She's finally getting some hair. She kind of has a mullett going on though because the back is growing faster than the top I think.

She was a kitty for Halloween. We had dinner at my grandma's in Pima then went to trunk or treat in Pima with my parents and Chris and Melissa and their boys. Then we went to Garrett's parents house and hung out for a while and Sienna got to see all the trick or treaters that came to their house. When Sienna saw herself in the mirror she was really worried about her little brown dot on her nose. She started whining and saying, "nose". Even the next day when we were looking at the pictures she didn't like them because she was mad about her nose.

Here's Sienna and her cousin Tate.

Sienna has been sleeping in her crib in her room for 4 weeks now. I'm so happy. Me and Garrett thought it would never happen. It wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would be to get her to do it. Last night she slept all night but she's been waking up once or twice and we just have to go in there and give her her binky and she goes back to sleep. It's so nice to sleep in our king size bed with just the two of us. Sienna used to be all over me and grabbing my hair all night. She's getting to be such a big girl. She hasn't had a bottle for a couple months and now she's sleeping in her room. The next thing to break will be the binky. She calls it her bimpy. I'm not sure when that will happen.

Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved a pumpkin for Sienna. We did one last year too but she was 3 1/2 months old so she didn't care about it. This year she was very interested. She helped Garrett get the insides out, then we took it inside and carved it.

She really likes her pumpkin. I think only in Arizona you can carve a pumpkin and be outside in shorts. It's starting to get colder at night though. Not much has been going on around here. Sienna just keeps us entertained. Some things that she loves right now are babies, popsicles, horses, and SpongeBob. Everytime she sees babies she says awe, and makes a funny face. Here she is with her cousin Bryden that she just loves. She calls him Bry. We babsat him yesterday and she loves taking care of him.
She's started saying no a lot. It's kind of cute though because instead of saying no she says mo. It took us a little while to figure out she meant no. She's a really sweet girl though, always wanting to give kisses to everyone. She's really smart and is talking better every day. She puts two words together like hi mama, thank you mama, mo (no) mama. She can also follow directions really well. She understands a lot of what we say.

San Diego

There are LOTS of pictures in this post. Last Tuesday we went to San Diego with our friends Jace and Erin and their little girl Ellie who is 6 weeks older than Sienna. We drove to Tucson then stopped at the mall and did some quick shopping and ate lunch then we were back on the road. It seemed like it took us forever to get there. We had to stop a lot because of the babies. They were never cranky or poopy at the same time. It was ok though. Sienna actually did really good until about the last hour. She was just screaming! After trying everything, Garrett finally got her settled down. We stayed at a really nice hotel in downtown San Diego. We all stayed in the same room so me, Garrett, and Sienna all slept in a double bed. After the first night I was so tired that Sienna and I slept good but Garrett not so good. The pictures are kind of in the wrong order. We went to the zoo the first day we were there, then the temple and the beach the next day. On Friday we decided to get up and leave early so the girls would sleep most of the way home. So we woke up at 2:45, we already had most of our stuff packed, so we just got up and left. The first hour of the trip, we regretted waking up so early. Sienna could not go back to sleep in her carseat. She was just whining and trying to move around to get comfortable. So I climbed in the backseat with her to try and help her get to sleep. She was rubbing my hair because thats what she does to go to sleep. So I had my head in a weird position and I wasn't really looking at the road and I got car sick. I couldn't handle Sienna anymore because I was sick so me and Garrett switched and I drove and he finally got Sienna to sleep. I was so happy when she went to sleep. So they slept and I drove until we got to Gila Bend. I was so tired so my eyes were bloodshot, I didn't have any makeup on, my hair was a mess, and we had to stop at the Border Patrol checkpoint. Before we pulled up to the guy I told Garrett they were probably going to think I was on drugs because of how I looked. Then the guy asked me some questions about my citizenship and I could barely understand him or answer him and Garrett is just in the back laughing so the guy just laughed and let us go by. Sienna did good on the way home and after she fell asleep and slept for about 3 1/2 hrs I was happy that we left so early. We got home around 12:00 and we all took a long nap. We had a lot of fun. We found out that vacations are definately different with babies. It wasn't quite as relaxing but we had a good time together. The little girls had fun together and gave each other lots of hugs and kisses. Here's some pictures from the trip--
Sienna and Ellie chasing the birds. They both loved the beach.

Sienna really loved the sand.

She wasn't so crazy about the cold water. She's kind of a scaredy cat.

Walking on the beach for the first time.

All of us at the temple. It was my first time seeing the San Diego temple. It's so pretty. It would be cool to go inside someday.

Kisses.

Buddies.
We let the girls run around a little bit.

Watching a movie nicely in the bed together. That didn't last too long though. Sienna can't sit down and watch tv. She's not that into it yet.

At the zoo, taking a nap.

I love her eyelashes when she's asleep like this. And her chubby cheeks. She fell asleep while on a tram ride.

Jace, Ellie, Garrett, Sienna, and a hippo.

Some of the things Sienna did on the trip to keep occupied, playing with phones, eating snacks, sleeping, and looking at her book. On the way home I tried to play a DVD for her on the laptop and she just ended up turning the computer off. That didn't work as well as well as I thought it would.

Update

Garrett started school in August. He's taking one morning class and one online class. So far, so good. I'm trying to start working out. I'm sick of this belly that's leftover from being pregnant with Sienna. So hopefully I can keep it up. I've realized that I'm really out of shape! And this is what Sienna has been up to...
...making messes! She loves to tear up stuff and pull all of our shoes off the shelves. She does it every chance she gets. It's a good thing she's cute.
How can you resist this face? She knows if she does something wrong, she puckers up and gives us a kiss. It's so cute. She amazes us everyday at how smart she is. She is always trying to say new words and copy everything we do. Tonight we were watching So You Think You Can Dance and she saw the people tap dancing and she started tapping her feet on the floor. She also puts everything on the floor in her toy box.
If we can't find something, it's usually in here. Today she's 14 mos! She has been sleeping so bad lately. Last week she had a stuffed up nose so she couldn't breathe at night and suck her pacifier. So she was waking up a couple times a night and I had to rock her back to sleep because she couldn't go back to sleep on her own. Now, the last couple of nights, she's been sleeping bad and waking up for no apparent reason! We've been only letting her take one nap so she'll go to sleep earlier. If we let her take two she doesn't want to go to sleep until almost midnight. So she's been going to sleep in between 9 and 10. Before we go to bed she wakes up at least a couple times and we have to go in there and comfort her and she goes back to sleep. Then the rest of the night she's all over me and needs my hair to fall asleep. Last night, or I guess this morning, she woke up at 4:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 6! I tried everything I could think of and at 6, she finally went back to sleep. She wasn't crying or anything she was just awake. And we don't usually wake up until at least 8. I don't know what her deal is. I know I need to get her to sleep in her crib at night. She takes naps in there during the day just fine. It's just so hard. I guess we've created a nighttime monster because she sleeps in our bed and she can't go to sleep by herself. Being a parent is just so hard sometimes! I guess I needed to vent a little about her sleeping! I wasn't planning on this being such a long post. If anyone has any advice, it's welcome.

Fun Day Together

On Garrett's day off this week we had a lot of fun. The weather was so nice. It was around 90 degrees. In the morning I did housework then in the afternoon we went golfing and Garrett played 9 holes. Sienna likes to be at the golf course. She mostly rode in the cart with me but sometimes she would get out and walk around. A couple of times she would walk over and steal Garrett's golf ball. Then we came home and had dinner and it started raining. So we sat outside and listened to music on the ipod to see if it would stop raining because we wanted to go play tennis. It finally started only sprinkling so we went to EA to play. It was still sprinkling but we started playing and Sienna was all over the court playing with the tennis balls. After about 20 minutes she was done and she was just walking around whining so we came home. The next night we went and played without her. I didn't have my camera all day so I only got one picture with my phone.

Sienna is walking!

A few days ago Sienna decided she wanted to start walking. She could do it before, she would take a few steps here and there but she really didn't want to do it. So now she walks all around the house. She looks so cute doing it, but then again we think everything she does is cute!

Pictures

Erin Householder took these pictures for us a couple weeks ago. We wanted to get Sienna's one year pics and we got some family pictures too. It's taken me this long to post them because I can't narrow them down and decide which ones are my favorites. I have like 40 favorites. So here are some of them and you can see some on her blog www.erinhouseholderphotography.blogspot.com. She just recently started taking pictures for people and she's so good! Sienna wasn't even being very happy and she still got so many good ones. I hope she continues to take pictures for a long time so we always have a good photographer to go to.
