Carter's 1!

Our baby boy turned 1 on May 20th.  We went down to Safford for the weekend and had his party at my mom's house.  Right after we got there he started feeling sick and was pretty sick all weekend.  Luckily he felt okay for the party and had fun.  He had a high fever and was not sleeping well and you could just tell he didn't feel good.  When we got home he developed a rash and the doctor figured out he had roseola.  We had a good time in Safford and Thatcher as always.  It's crazy that Carter has been here with us for a year.  I've loved evey minute of it.  He's been a good baby even though he hasn't quite slept through the night yet.  He's had more hospital/doctor visits than Sienna but we're so glad he's overall healthy.  He's an easy-going sweetheart.  He loves his blanket and uses it to go to sleep or when he just needs comfort.  He stuffs it in his mouth.  He searches to find the right spot to chew on.  He loves swimming and baths.  He's not walking yet, just standing by things and he can stand by himself for a few seconds.  He has four teeth.  He weighs 21 1/2 pounds and is 29 1/4 inches tall.  He's a great eater and is loving eating table food.   At his party he ate his whole cupcake.  He was just shoving it in his mouth.  I was glad that he liked it.  All of the family helped with the party.  My parents just got a new swingset/playset in their backyard and the kids loved it.  It was a fun time.

Cali Vacation April 2012

At the end of April we went to California with Garrett's parents.  We drove and got there Monday afternoon.  That night we went to a fun Pirate dinner show.  We ate dinner while they did the show right in front of us.  At first Sienna was scared but then she realized that it was pretend and she thought it was cool.  Tuesday we went to Knott's Berry Farm.  Sienna had a blast.  It wasn't busy so she got to ride all the rides she wanted to.  She surprised us and was really brave.  She loved the log ride.  I asked her if it was scary or fun and she said scary fun.  She had a great time.  Garrett and I had fun on the rollercoasters.  Carter got to ride a couple of rides.  Tuesday night we went to an interesting restaurant.  It was a Korean place and when you walk in you take your shoes off and they give you slippers.  It's a kids play place too so they don't want anyone bringing germs in.  They had all kinds of fun stuff for Sienna to play on and Carter too.  There were two ladies there that watch your kids and play with them.  I've never heard of anything like it but it was cool.  Wednesday we went to Knott's again in the morning.  Sienna rode all of her favorite rides and Garrett and I rode some rides.  That afternoon we left and went to Long Beach to go to an aquarium.  We saw lots of cool stuff there.  Then we walked along the harbor outside of the aquarium and saw some ships in the ocean.  We ate dinner at Bubba Gump's and went back to the hotel.  Sienna had fun getting in the jacuzzi at the hotel.  The weather was nice and there were no crowds while we were there.  The kids were really good on the drive even though it took a lot longer to get home than it did to get there.  We even found a really good little Mexican food restaurant on our way back.  Carter needed to eat so we stopped at a random exit and found good homemade food inside of a convenience store.  It was a fun trip.
