Carter @ 16 months

Carter is 16 months.  They say he's small for his age.  He sure is crazy.  He's always has bruises somewhere on his body.  He loves to play rough but he sure is sweet too.  He gives out lots of kisses.  He loves to dance and sometimes sings.  He won't talk.  The only thing he says is "all" for ball and hi.  He's starting to try to say cheese when he takes pictures.  He just says eeee.  He's into everything.  He finds highlighters and draws on his face.  He climbs on the table and chairs constantly.  He climbs on the couch and from one to the other.  He destroys the bathrooms and plays in the toilet.  He loves to play with balls and to play outside.  I guess he's a normal boy but we're just learning what it's like to have a toddler boy around the house.  He loves his sister and usually follows her around during the day.  He won't sit in the cart at the store for long so I've gotten used to holding him and pushing the cart at the same time usually with Sienna in it.  I just consider it part of my work out.  His hair is so blonde and it just sticks straight up.  We usually keep it pretty short.
A week or so before Ron and Marlene left on their mission we went to Culver's for ice cream.  Carter was laying on the table with a spoon and taking bites out of everyone's ice cream.  He was loving it.

Sienna starts Preschool!

On September 4th we went to meet Sienna's teachers and see her preschool.  She was so excited and was counting down the days.  She got all dressed up with jewelry and lip gloss.  Her preschool is at a lady's house and it's really good.  She has a lot of experience and is really nice.

Carter wanted in on the picture.
The next day was her actual first day of school.  She was SO excited.  She'd been waiting for this day for a long time.  She wasn't nervous or scared at all.  When we got in the car to take her she said, "I can't believe I'm going to school.  I'm actually in school now!"

She had a cute dress on that Grandma Lynn had bought her and her Hello Kitty backpack that Grandma Moore had bought her.  She went to school just fine and wasn't nervous at all.  I was a little nervous and sad.  It was weird dropping her off somewhere and just leaving without her.  Me and this little girl are not apart very much.  Then I realized how fast it went by and it's kind of nice to just have time with Carter.
This was after school.  She was so hyped up and silly.
She said, "I love school!"  She's been so excited to go every time.  She's such a good girl and is growing up fast.

Beach Day!

The day after California Adventure we went to Huntington Beach.  We made it there by lunch time and we ate at a restaurant on the beach called Sandy's.  We sat outside and had some good fish tacos.  Then we walked down to the beach.
Carter loved being able to play in the sand all he wanted.
Sienna wanted to try out the water but it was pretty cold and the waves kinda scared her at first.
She said I'm outta here.  She eventually went back in and my dad and Garrett were helping her jump over the waves and she had a lot of fun.  She was freezing but didn't want to come out of the water.
The kids and my dad made sand castles.
Carter tried out the water but wasn't really into it.

Sienna had sand everywhere after she got dunked by a wave.  She wore her glasses like this for a long time too.

Carter was a good boy and had a good nap.
Then he woke up for more playtime.

We just relaxed on the beach.  It was not hot or very busy so we stayed a long time.  The kids didn't get sunburned at all but I got really burned.  The kids were really good.  We went home and got showers and then went out to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.  My parents and Garrett got crab legs of course but I don't like crab so I got the salmon.  There was a guy there that made the coolest balloon animals we had ever seen.  Sienna got an octopus with bubbles coming off of it and Carter got a monkey climbing up a tree with bananas hanging from it.  They were really cute.  We came home the next morning so we had to bring the balloons with us.  Sienna's was huge and my mom had it by her legs the whole trip.  What a good Grandma.  When we got home the kids never played with them again but I guess that's how it goes.  We can't wait to go back to California again!
