3 Months Old

Carter is 3 months old!
He smiles a lot and has laughed a couple times.
He's almost too big for his 3-6 mos. clothes.
He loves to check out his hands and try to figure them out.
He does tummy time and is getting pretty strong.

At 3 years old Sienna is 3' 1" and 34 lbs. She in the 50th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. She told the dr. that her favorite colors are purple and green. She also told the dr. that her favorite food is carrots and broccoli. The dr. asked Sienna if she could jump and Sienna tried to show her how she could hop on one foot. She asked Sienna what we do when we cross the road and Sienna said when we cross the road we get our mail. We don't even have to cross the road to get our mail so I don't know where that came from. The dr. told her to hold mom's hand when she crosses the road. She's funny. She's really growing up.
At almost 3 months Carter is 24" long and 15 lbs. He's 50th percentile for height and 95th percentile for weight. At 1 month I think he was 25th percentile. He's so big and chunky. He's adorable. He had to get some shots and he was pretty tough. He only cried for a minute. Then he was cranky that evening after he woke up from a nap. The next day he was fine though.

Carter's Blessing Day

Yesterday was Carter's blessing day. It was really nice. We had tons of family there. Our ward is normally kind of small and yesterday there were so many people there that they ran out of water for the sacrament. There was Carter's blessing and they were changing out the Bishopric so there were a lot of extra people there. Carter looked so cute. He was so good as usual.
After sacrament meeting. He was hungry and ready to go. I love that cute face.
Look at his red cheeks. It was hot!
Carter talking to Lyndsey. After the blessing we all went and ate at Pancho's. We had about 35 people. It was nice to get to see all of our family. I'm glad so many traveled to come to the blessing. Our families are very supportive. I meant to take more pictures but I forgot. It was a nice day.
My little chubby boy. His outfit was 6-9 months and it fit him just perfect.

2 Months Old

It's a little late, but on July 20th Carter was 2 months old.
Sienna loves him. Sometimes she reads him books. Most of the time he really likes her attention.

He's gotten so chubby! He has such a big belly and little rolls on his arms and legs. On his 2 month birthday he weighed 12 lbs 12 oz.
He's a good boy.
He sleeps pretty good at night. Usually only waking up once or twice. During the day when he falls asleep though, I can't put him down or he wakes right back up. He likes riding in the car and usually falls asleep. I took the kids to Safford by myself and Carter slept the whole way up and back. He smiles a lot and talks to us. In the picture above you can see that Carter's right eye is almost half brown, half blue. The outside half is brown. I noticed it before his 1 month appointment and Garrett wanted me to ask the pediatrician about it. So I asked her and when she was looking at his eyes she said that the coloring was normal. His eyes might change color more anyways. Then she noticed his pupils are different. In both his eyes he has what is called a coloboma. It means his pupils are elongated at the bottom of his eyes. His irises, the colored part of the eye, didn't develop all the way at the bottom. It's a birth defect that happens in the first part of pregnancy and happens in 1 in every 10,000 babies. It's not really easy to see right now unless he is looking up but it is noticeable. Colobomas can range from causing blindness or just being cosmetic and not affecting the vision. We had to take him to an eye specialist and he said that he will be able to see but right now we don't know how much his vision will be affected. We'll just have to wait and see. He also has a heart murmur so we had to take him to a cardiologist to get it checked out. It is normal and he should grow out of it so that is nothing to worry about. The eye specialist wanted to get an MRI to check out his brain since the brain is closely related to the eyes. So on his 2 month birthday we had to take him to Phoenix Children's Hospital to get an MRI. It went pretty well considering he couldn't eat four hours before it and was starving. He usually eats every two hours. They had to give him light anesthesia for it. He came out of anesthesia just fine so we only had to stay at the hospital for two hours afterwards then we were able to go home. The results of the MRI were good. There is nothing wrong in his brain. One coloboma is worse than the other so we'll just keep getting his eyes checked and see what happens. Right now he seems to see fine so we're not too worried about it. We're just glad that everything came out alright and we're lucky to have two healthy kids.

4th of July

My parents were here for the 4th of July and my mom's birthday on the 3rd. We had a lot of fun with them here. Sienna stayed at there hotel for one night, she swam at the pool there. We did some shopping and went out to eat.

Sienna's 3!

Sienna turned 3 on July 9th. Her birthday started out with getting one present. When she woke up we told her happy birthday and she asked, is it 5 yet? She knew her birthday party was at 5. She was really excited for it. So we gave her one of the presents that we bought her. It's a baby alive doll that she wanted.
Getting ready to go to Chuck E. Cheese.
Sweet girl.
Carter slept most of the time.
She had a lot of fun playing games with her cousins that came. They brought out the cake and did this big birthday song and Chuck E. Cheese came out. It was fun. She wanted the vanilla cake. Vanilla with sprinkles is her favorite.
Blowing out her candles.
They put a crown and medal on her. She was the birthday star.
She really likes playing with Boe.
She got to go in the ticket blaster for her birthday. They turn it on and tickets fly everywhere and you grab as many as you can. She wanted Garrett to go with her. So they both got there goggles on and did it. It was pretty funny. Garrett grabbed all the tickets and Sienna just was trying to hit the tickets away from her.
She got lots of fun presents. She got a wagon, binoculars, a telescope, a firetruck, clothes, a movie from Grandma and Grandpa Moore. She specifically asked for the binoculars, telescope, and firetruck. She got a scooter and cd from Grandma and Grandpa Sparks, we got her a doll, shirt, water toy, and camera. She got some other fun toys too.
Papa was making her laugh. She was looking at him through her binoculars.
She got a ton of tickets. She got a couple prizes. Her favorite was her lollipop.
Getting ready to go with her haul of presents.
Princess Sienna being pulled by Brad out to the car.
Carter was finally awake and we were going home. Sienna has grown up so much. She says really grown up things sometimes. She's really sweet most of the time but she can definitely have an attitude. She loves her little brother. She's a good helper.
