Grandma Jean

My great Grandma Jean passed away on March 17. She was almost 87. She had cancer for about 20 years I think. She fought for a long time with it. Nobody expected her to make it as long as she did. Recently she got a lot worse and was ready to go. I'm glad that she's not in pain anymore. We will all miss her though. I'm lucky that I was able to get to know her so well and she was able to get to know Sienna a little bit. I was Grandma Jean's first great-grandchild and Sienna was her first great-great-grandchild. My middle name is Jean after her. Even though she was sick a lot she was the perfect example of a grandma. She was the best cook and baker ever. She was also the sweetest lady you'd ever meet. She was married to my Pop for almost 70 years. May was their anniversary. They eloped on the night she graduated and she was 16 almost 17 and my Pop had just turned 18. Below is a picture of Sienna and Grandma Jean and I when Sienna was about 2 weeks old and we took her down to Pima to see Grandma Jean for the first time. She really liked Sienna and was always talking about all the "tricks" that Sienna knew.

Sienna's Easter Dress

It's so hard to get a good picture from Sienna anymore. She won't hold still long enough for me to take it and she always gives me cheesy smiles. So these were the best ones I could get. She looked really cute in her Easter dress that my mom got her with the matching shoes and bows.

Sienna got measured this month and she weighs 26 lbs (90th percentile) and I can't remember how tall she is but it was like the 22nd percentile. So she's a little short and chubby. She knows a lot of her colors, she can count to 3. She's really interested in colors but not much in counting. Every time she has some candy she wants to tell me the color of each one she eats. She loves Dora. She just keeps us entertained all day long.
